Coming soon - a new park at 114 North Main St. (between Alpine Bank and the Local's Market) and it needs a name so we're asking you to submit names that would suit this new amenity in our community. The park will feature a natural-looking playground with a slide, climbing boulders, tree stump jumpers and logs to climb on as well as public art and a path leading to the Edwin Carter Museum. The name for this new park should reflect geographical, historical or cultural significance to this specific area and/or to our community in general. The park may be named after an individual if the individual had a historical connection; consideration for a deceased individual should not occur until after one year of passing, and their historical significance and reputation has been secured. The name should not duplicate (or be similar) to an existing landmark in Breckenridge. The deadline for submitting is OCTOBER 15, 2014. There is no limit on the names proposed by an individual. Town staff will review, and then present the top submissions to Council. The individual who proposes the selected name will be invited to participate, and be recognized, at the grand opening of the park. Thank you for your creative ideas!
