On Nov. 6, 2012 the Colorado voters approved Amendment 64 which allows for the legal sale of marijuana in a retail establishment to those persons 21 years of age and older. Amendment 64 also authorizes a municipality to govern the time, place, manner and number of marijuana establishments. Breckenridge Town Council is supporting this amendment to allow the retail sales of marijuana; however, believe these sales should occur outside of our downtown core business area. Currently, there is one medical marijuana dispensary in the downtown, which would have the ability to move to a new location outside the core business area should the business owner decide to switch to a retail operation. What do you think?
